A Danish coach, Michael Nobaek, with three decades of experience in badminton and a key member of the team for Viktor Axelsen – two-time Olympic champion, has expressed admiration for the emerging talent in UAE. The 53-year-old believes that the country holds the potential to become a global leader in badminton within a decade.

Currently dominated by six Asian countries and Denmark as well as France and a bit of Spn from Europe, Nobaek stated, I believe the future will be different. In ten years' time, many countries including UAE will stand among top players on the world tour. It's realistic for my dream to see the UAE becoming No 1 in badminton. We can bring together talents from Asia with our team and experience here in Dub, resulting in a stronger global position than just being around the sixth spot.

UAE’s eight-member contingent traveling to China for World Junior Championships includes promising players who have already participated in a high-performance camp at Prime Star Excellence Centre in Quss. The UAE is currently positioned seventh globally, ahead of India and Indonesia.

The highlight player from UAE right now is Bharath, ranked fifth in the World Junior Rankings earlier this year, sd Nobaek. Some other boys and girls are also performing well here and together we m to improve our position at the tournament.

This camp has brought together not only top junior players but nine others including Riyan Malhan, Adithya Kiran, Nathan Mathew, Steve Mathew, Zeebacker, Madhumitha Sundarapandian, Znaba Reem Siraj, and Emiratis Abdul Aziz Yahya and Ghadeer.

The two-week camp focused on intense dly trning with recovery sessions in the evenings to ensure optimal performance from all participants.

Based on my experience of over three decades, these players have immense potential. Many are among the top junior players globally and their journey is set to become even more promising. We're looking forward to seeing how they perform at this championship, especially agnst Denmark's strong team, concluded Nobaek.
